Skyview Radio Society Digital Challenges

This Challenge was intended to introduce the Skyview members to selected Digital Modes. It was run twice, in 2016 and 2017. At that time JT65 and JT9 were the new digital modes that could get through when nothing else could. JT65 and JT9 were slower and more relaxed modes than today's FT8 and FT4. There were no variations with JT65 or JT9. There was less automation in the JT65 and JT9 modes, requiring the operator to do more thinking and strategizing. FT8 and FT4 have added a lot of automation, and many operators run much higher power. It is no longer the same. Participation was not as great as had been anticipated. So, this Challenge was not repeated again. It has been left here for historical purposes only
